Today I am officially halfway through my pregnancy and I am finally feeling GREAT! I am having such a hard time not knowing if we are having a boy or a girl. I keep changing my mind about whether or not I'm going to find out. The only reason that I want to wait is because this one has to be a C-section because my other two were. I hate the whole cesarean experience. I feel so disconnected and out of it. I've thrown up both times either during or after the c-section and I don't get to hold the baby until I'm all stitched up. In my mind, waiting to know the sex of the baby will give me something to take my mind off of everything else that is going on. Maybe...
In two weeks when I have the main ultrasound, I'll decide. But...HOORAY for being halfway done! Can't wait to hold this little one!

Congrats on making it half way! You are going to be a great mom x 3! :D Curtis and I always talk about if we should find out the sex of our baby. He thinks we shouldn't, but I don't know if I can wait. (This is of course when the time comes and I'm actually pregnant.) It would be fun though. Our friends waited until their baby was born and it was SO exciting to find out what they had.
I know you don't want to know but I totally do! lol! Of course we could probably plan a pretty interesting shower without knowing...but of course you couldn't get any clothes or blankets because I hate gender neutral stuff its never that cute.
I think we show place bets....with the odds 50/50
Congrats to my fellow half-way-er! We are just so awesome making it this far aren't we? I think so. Let's be proud!
Congrats on being half way! I think you should totally wait to find out the gender! I waited to find out with both of my girls. It is truly one of life's greatest suprises! Yeah you can't prepare as much, but once you have 2 kids there really isn't THAT much preparing. Oh and my husband would go out and buy the baby a couple of outfits while I was still in the hospital, he thought that was pretty fun(I think it's because normally he doesn't really have a say when it comes to kids clothes.) Just some advice from someone who has waited.. totally worth it.
Wow!!! one would think I never went to school and if I did I did not do well in spelling...I met we should place bets...what's the odd's 50/50.
I love your halloween music...
I thought your comment was funny, Georgie! Placing bets isn't a bad idea if all of the proceeds go to me.
Personally, I couldn't do it and don't know how you can. I can't wait to find out what it is! The funny thing is that I will know what we are having before you know what you are having. Congrats!
Terryn, your comment has totally made me want to wait. It's nice to hear from someone that actually waited to find out, and if the experience was worth it. I know that it is a surprise either at 5 months or when the baby is born, but it almost seems more magical if I can wait! I am ready either way and would love a boy or a girl. So, I'm going to wait!...
Yay! It's the best when you pass the halfway mark. I'm so glad you are feeling better. You are brave to even be considering not finding out, I could never I get too anxious. It would be so exciting on the delivery day to have a fun surprise though. Either way a new little one is always so exciting!
Yeah, Brandi, I like Terryn's comments...it does put some magic in it (plus, you already have the boy AND girl stuff, so you'll be set until you can go out and about again.) Now, from a fellow C-Sectioner, I'll be the first to say GRRR with you about having to have a C-Section. Grrr! Both mine were C-Sections, too, and I'm getting the same news that I "can't" have the 3rd VBAC. Check out http://www.ican-online.org/ It's support with others who understand the disappointment we feel! There are doctors/midwives out there that WILL do a VBAC after 2, but you'd have to search.
Anyways, from the C-Section point of view, I'm SO in love with your reasoning to wait! What a great way to be connected with the experience! Maybe I WILL actually wait with #3...Steve would be shocked to hear me--the I Like To Plan Everything Girl--say that. Thanks for the idea! I say--DO IT! WAIT to be surprised!
That half-way mark is exciting. You did not look that far along when we saw you at the library a few weeks ago. We waited to find out what we were having with our first. It was kind of fun to not know.
