Lemonade: 25 cents

Hayden came to me this week and told me that he was going to do a lemonade stand. He showed me this poster that he had made and told me that there would be hot dogs (see the table to the right) and three kinds of slushes. He even wrote out a shopping list for me! It says 10 lemons. (the lemons are drawn) I told him that 10 might be too many, so he crossed out 7 of the lemons and wrote "3".
He set up the chairs, put up a sign on the main road, and helped prepare the lemonade. Look at his cute little sign: "Lemonade 25 cents".

He would watch for cars and when they would drive by, he was so disappointed and took it so personally. How could someone not want his lemonade? (note to self: stop at EVERY lemonade stand for the rest of my life.)

His customer service was incredible. He totaled about 10 customers, and every one of them got a big smile with their lemonade and a cheery, "Have a great day!" What a success! I think this kid has a future in the business world.

The other day, he was also writing out tickets and giving them to me. I have a lot of tickets to take care of. I got one for 20,000 dollars for being "too fats." (I really hope he meant too fast!)

Firsts

Crew giggled at me for the first time today for a good 30 seconds. I got teary eyed. Such sweet, cute innocence. I held him extra long tonight before putting him to bed. He's already growing so quickly and I know that this infant stage will be gone before I know it. After his giggles today, I cherished him a little more. I cuddled him and snuggled my nose into his neck. I stared at him while he slept. He's so perfect. I realized that I need to slow down a little more. Enjoy this time a little longer. I can see that it goes by so quickly. I need to catch those little smiles and giggles and treasure them.

And today... I did.

Because I didn't already have enough to do...

Crew's Blessing Day

In Young Women's the Sunday before Crew was born, one of the older women in the ward spoke to us and talked about all sorts of wonderful things, but one thing that stuck out to me was how important it is to create. She mentioned that she had made all of her children's blessing dresses and suits and talked about how the talent of being able to sew has blessed her life and the lives of those around her. She inspired me to make Crew's blessing suit. It was so rewarding for me to be able to finish something that could be passed down to Crew's children. I think it turned out so cute!

The pattern was...a little...90's--and a little too big, but still cute on this little guy!We kind of got a smile!
I was SO excited about the food! (Nursing moms usually are!)
Since the blessing was at 9AM, we had brunch.
We served: (click on the item for the recipe)
Everything was a hit and everything was gone...VERY FAST!

It was such a wonderful day! Crew is such a great little guy and I am so thankful to be his mother.
