Lehi Spanked His Kids?

Today we started reading the Book of Mormon with Hayden. One of the verses says, "And Lehi spake unto them..." Hayden asked, "Lehi spanked them?" I could not stop laughing. I'm laughing now! Me and Eric explained that sometimes they use different words in the scriptures than we use. Hayden said, "Yea, like spank and spanken."

On my "Fry-Pot"

Today when I was running some errands in the car, Hayden heard a song from the movie "Cars" on the radio. He asked me, "Mommy, when we get home can you put that song on your "fry pot"?" I guess it sounds pretty close to I-Pod.?

IKEA opened today

So, a couple of my girlfriends and I decided to go to the Grand Opening of IKEA in Draper today. I have never been to an IKEA, so I was very excited. We got there and after parking a 1/2 mile away and the police directing traffic two blocks in front of the store, and seeing the line wrap around the store (it's a HUGE store) and weave in and out a few times, we decided that was not for us. Not with our 5 young kids! That line would have taken at least an hour, not to mention the chaos inside. Sadly, my IKEA trip will have to wait...AT LEAST a month!!

Last Soccer game of the Season

Today Hayden played in his last game of the season. It was a fun year because all of the neighbor kids from Joy School were on his team. Most of the teams we played were 4-5 year olds, and our team was made up of all 3 year olds! They had a good time, though. Hayden enjoyed chasing the girls around and pretending that he was a monster, and the girls loved playing princesses right in the middle of the field. There were times when a player would just take off running off the field in the middle of the game. Or, a couple of kids would play in the dirt pile on the field that where the grass was dying.
Eric was the coach, and you would probably have to pay him a lot of money to do that again. It was a hard group of kids because they are such good friends. They just wanted to play with each other...not the ball!! Hayden was a little bit of a bully with the ball. A lot of times he would take on a kid twice his size and push him out of the way of the ball. He just didn't understand when he got pushed right back. The funniest moment was when Hayden came up to me at half time one game and said, "It's not fair, Mom, I just can't win this game, I just can't do it anymore!!" Then Eric told Hayden to come back in the game, and off he went. Like I said, it was fun, but if you ask me-3 year olds are too young for this game!

Slippin' and Slidin'

Our Sweetheart

Our New Baby Girl, Cali

Our Little Graduate!

This past year, a few of the Mom's in my neighborhood put together a "Joy School" group. It has been so fun to teach those 3 year olds the fun little lessons about how to enjoy life, how to be happy, and to be creative. They are little sponges at this age.
Hayden graduates from Joy School this week.
I just love this picture of him with his little "diploma".
