Wheeler Farm Fun

For Family Night Monday we went to Wheeler Farm. My kids were so excited! At 5pm they let you milk their two milk cows and they talk about the chores on the farm with the kids.

Hayden and Maya were in awe at the huge cows they brought in! Their faces were like this the entire time. Their two milk cows are named Laila and Gidget.

Hayden was seriously a natural. He just went up and knew what to do. He really enjoyed it, surprisingly. The big question at our house lately has been, "Mom, when are we getting a cow?" Um, not anytime soon...

I, however, was not a natural and I had to keep asking for a demonstration on how to do it. It just feels weird to be doing that to a cow. I was feeling real sympathy for Laila, there. I would not want to be producing milk for the rest of my life, that is for sure!

Maya with the piggies. The animals are so friendly and well taken care of. All except for the chickens. We had a great time watching them, but they are brutal to each other! Many of the chickens had all of their feathers torn off. It was interesting to watch, and actually, Eric was rather intrigued. Once one chicken was down, they all started pecking. It makes me never want to have more than the 5 chickens we have now.

Good ol' Wheeler Farm!
